CCNA stands for Cisco Certified Network Associate.  The CCNA Security is intended for someone who wants to learn how to secure Cisco Routers and Switches.  This certification falls within their vendor products and focuses on security issues. In the IT related fields the need for comprehensive security knowledge is always on the increase.

The reality of attack to IT systems is here to stay.  Sometimes the attacks are meant to steal data, sometimes the attacks are more obviously for funds, and occasionally just to cause someone or a company malicious harm.  Whatever the reason and however it is implemented - IT Professionals are needed to serve as the main guard against these attacks.  CCNA: Security certified  technicians understand how to set up Cisco systems to be defensible against attack as well as having the skills to respond quickly and thoroughly to security incidents.

Job roles of those pursuing this certification typically include: systems administrator, network administrator, information systems administrator, network operations analyst, network technician, technical support specialist, network security specialist, NOC Technician and more.

In this program of study students will take the necessary courses to prepare them to sit for the required exams to obtain the CCNA Security credential.
